Ryan was raised in the central Utah area. His joy for the Spanish language began to grow while living in Argentina for two years. Ryan ventured to China to teach English as a second language at Xiangfan University.
While at BYU-Hawaii, he worked as a Spanish tour guide at the Polynesian Cultural Center where he welcomed many visitors to the center and taught them about the cultures. Ryan has also spent time in Tonga teaching English as a second language.
His love for Â鶹¹ÙÍø and its community started as an assistant dorm parent in Sage and while tutoring Â鶹¹ÙÍø students in Spanish classes. He gained further teaching experience as an instructor for the Utah Army National Guard teaching the Basic Leadership Course. He has a passion for the Spanish language and enjoys helping students gain that same passion.
Outside of teaching, Ryan enjoys spending time with his wife and kids. He also enjoys exercising, learning new languages (currently learning Portuguese), being outdoors, and camping with his family.
