Engineering Arts & Technology
Engineering and Technology at Âé¶¹¹ÙÍø challenges students to design creative solutions through the engineering and production of both virtual and physical outcomes. Within its various studio labs and maker-spaces the engineering and technology departments aim to inspire the use of computer technology, the application of trade skills, and the development of higher order critical thinking.

Computer Science I introduces students to the fundamentals of computer science and programming using the CodeHS platform. Through hands-on projects and problem-solving activities, students learn to code in both JavaScript and Python. The course emphasizes creativity, communication, and critical thinking as students build authentic digital artifacts and gain a strong foundation in computational thinking.

In this course, students will develop foundational skills in 3D modeling as used in animation and video game design. They will learn industry-standard terminology related to 3D models and 3D space. The course begins with grayboxing techniques and progresses through box modeling, shading, texturing, and rendering, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the 3D asset creation pipeline.

This course introduces students to the fundamentals of game design through a combination of guided projects and an independent capstone experience. Students will develop foundational skills in object-oriented programming, learn to use Godot Engine’s node-based scene system, and explore core concepts in level design and interactive development. While no prior programming experience is required, familiarity with coding is highly beneficial.

This course introduces students to the interdisciplinary craft of cosplay with a focus on prop making. Students will learn techniques for creating high-quality prop weapons, equipment, and accessories using a variety of methods, including pre-made bases, 3D printing, foam construction, and other commonly available materials. Emphasis is placed on surface preparation, painting techniques, and an introduction to foam shaping, providing students with the skills needed to produce detailed and realistic props.

In this course, students will explore the technology behind modern FPV (First-Person View) drones and gain hands-on experience building them. Topics include radio communication systems, U.S. regulations, soldering techniques, and other essential components of drone assembly. Students will apply their knowledge by constructing both a functional drone and a custom course designed for racing.

This course focuses on current computer technology and technical skills related to recording, sound design, and production using hardware and software tools such as Garage Band, Logic Pro X, and Ableton Live.

This course provides students with an introduction to analyzing, designing, and building electrical systems. Students will start with analog systems, learning about AC and DC currents, resistance, transistors, and more. Through a blend of hands-on labs and foundational math, students will explore circuit design, measurement tools, and basic troubleshooting techniques. Projects emphasize real-world applications, encouraging creativity and problem-solving. As the course progresses, students will connect theoretical concepts to practical builds, developing both technical skills and confidence. This course is ideal for beginners interested in engineering, electronics, or technology-focused career pathways.

Creating a yearbook builds skills in digital photography, digital design and publishing, organization, time management, writing and editing, and teamwork. The yearbook staff have the best job on campus! After initial learning and practicing with all the digital tools, we improve our skills all year by crafting and creating the permanent keepsake students have from their high school years.
